USF update on Hurricane Milton

All USF campuses will remain closed until at least Monday, Oct. 14, and classes scheduled on the Tampa, St. Petersburg and Sarasota-Manatee campuses will only be held asynchronously. USF business operations will resume remotely on Monday, Oct. 14, with only essential and critical employees working on campus.

AAU Membership Fueling USF鈥檚 Momentum

USF鈥檚 historic invitation to join the Association of American Universities has taken what many in Tampa Bay have once considered a 鈥渂est-kept secret鈥 to an unprecedented new level. Being an AAU member is a tremendous milestone for USF as it formalizes USF's position as a leading research university. USF is the first public university in Florida to be invited to join the AAU in nearly 40 years and is now one of only two institutions from the State University System of Florida to serve as an AAU member.

A team of researchers led by 哔咔漫画 St. Petersburg GIS and Remote Sensing Professor Barnali Dixon used the CRIS-HAZARD app to analyze real-time flooding in Pinellas County. The web-based application gathers crowdsourced data to identify flooding and inform policy in vulnerable coastal communities.
